One question I get asked year after year is what to wear for family holiday photos. I know it can be stressful so today i’m sharing a sneak peek at this years family holiday photos and some tips (for staying sane and) how to style your own!
Can you girls believe we are in the middle of August already?! Summer is coming to a close and that means it’s time to start back to school shopping for my little ones. I’m always on the hunt for cute, great quality pieces that won’t break the bank for my babes. Today i’m teaming up with Gap Factory and sharing some super cute pieces I scored for Ava & Luca (andddd a couple of items I may have snagged for myself too!)
Anything pink is a no brainer for Ava at this stage 😉 Do you guys remember when I used to dress her like a tom boy?! Oh how I miss the days of her letting me pick out her outfits lol. Now she pretty much does all her own picking and I knew this pretty little pink ruffle tank and these fun pink metallic slips would be her first pick!
Ugh can I keep these little feet this size forever!
Denim is obviously at the top of our to get list.
I shared a lot of snaps on SnapChat of Ava’s little party over the weekend. Her cake and cupcakes were both from Susie Cakes. If you’re in OC you have to try them! I swear they are even better than sprinkles. (are you girls on SnapChat too? I’ll admit it took me FOREVER to finally get on board bc lets be honest I felt overwhelmed with annnnother social media outlet…but it’s actually really growing on me. I like that it is a little more raw/unfiltered than all the other social media outlets and that I can actually chat with you girls too. If you follow me on there I would love to know what you want to see more of? You can find me under AndeeLayne)
I can’t believe my baby girl is four! I posted this picture on instagram a couple days ago and after reading through all your comments I couldn’t help but feel the love. It’s so crazy that so many of you girls have been following our little journey since before she was born and am just so so grateful for all the love you girls show.
Today I’m teaming up with Cetaphil® and sharing some products that have been staples in our home for years. I actually started using Cetaphil cleanser when I was pregnant with Ava and have been using it ever since. As you mamas know there’s a whole list of things you can’t use when you’re pregnant so when my dermatologist recommend Cetaphil I immediately went with it! I’ve been using it for over four years now and recommend it to all my friends. If you haven’t heard of Cetaphil, they are gentle yet powerful cleansers that cleanse without drying your skin. They have a several different moisturizers and what I love most about them is that hydrate your skin without clogging your pores. They even have moisturizers that are dedicated for Acne Prone skin or Skin with Eczema. Basically there is something for every skin type in their line! As you ladies may remember me saying before, I have super sensitive skin. There are a lot of products that I can’t use because I tend to get allergic reactions to the different ingredients in them. I’ve never had an issue with Cetaphil products; they work so well with my skin. They’re gentle but still effective.
I can’t believe that our little Luca is already a year old! They aren’t lying when they say it goes by so much faster the second time around! I am so sorry I have been so bad about documenting his milestones like I did with Ava. I can totally see now why my mom has baby album after baby album of my older brother and only one small one for me lol. When the second baby comes it’s definitely chaos just trying to keep up with it all! But here we go with a little recap of how it’s been with two babes
Luca is the sweetest, yummiest babe and will just melt you with his little grin! I can’t believe he is such a flirt already! Any waitress, girl at the checkout, or friend that comes by he turns into a total ham! He really is just such a good baby (even if he still wakes up once a night!) He just started sleeping through the night within the last month and there are still some random nights when he still wakes up once. We did some sleep training with Ava and it was the best thing we could have done for all of us.
Alright mama’s, I’ve finally finished tackling all the questions you left on instagram last week about traveling with kids! I have a full recap of our trip to Jackson Hole coming up but today were talking all about traveling (and it’s a lonnnng one). So here we go……..
What do you do for Car seats? I’m afraid to check them plane side for fear of the shape they’ll be in?
We’ve flown several times and always checked our bags at the main check in (never at that gate). In the beginning we honestly just used trash bags to cover them and they always came out fine. They make tons of car seat travel covers like THIS ONE that got good reviews and THIS ONE with wheels that are great too.
I’m curious on how you do naps/bedtime. I feel like we are always stuck in the room when traveling with babies. My kids are 3 and 5 now so its not bad but were having another in a couple months so we need to figure this out.
Okay ladies lets talk Postpartum Progress! First let me just say i’m so sorry i’ve lagged on this post (and a million other ones I have planned to do for that matter). I may sound like a broken record but life with two kiddos keeps a mama very busy and to be completely honest i’m definitely feeling the “struggle with the juggle” a lot lately but here we go finally with my Postpartum Journey after two babies! Back in 2012 (39 Weeks Pregnant with Ava) About 1.5 Years Postpartum After Ava It really wasn’t until about 6-7 Months postpartum after my first child that I even started to feel like my body was getting back to its pre baby shape. The above picture is at about one and half years postpartum after my first child (Ava). (39 Weeks Pregnant with second child, Luca) (8 Weeks Postpartum after baby #2) (and last month at 6 Months Postpartum after baby #2) With both pregnancies I gained just under 30 lbs and while most of it came off after a few months I still hung on to those last 5 lbs until at least 7 months later.
I am WAY over due for Luca and a life with two kiddos update! I have really lagged on his updates one because life has NEVER been more busy than right now (more on that below) but also because I have really struggled with just how much of my kids I want to share on the internet. It’s so crazy to know that some of you have been following my blog since before I was pregnant with Ava! I truly feel like i’ve come to know so many of you and am so thankful for all the love and support you girls constantly show!
When I first started blogging I felt like it was such a small tight knit community and now as the blog grows so does the exposure to the crazy world of the internet. There’s so much of my life I want to share but at the same time i’m hesitant because after all it is the internet. So it’s a constant battle in my mind about what to share and what not to share etc. If you’ve noticed most of the pics on my instagram I try my best to only show the back of Ava’s head etc but on the other hand i’m a proud mama and want to share with you guys too.
Happy Sunday Honeyyys! Hope you all are out enjoying the rest of the weekend! Just a quick post today some mommy and mini style with my little lady while she still thinks it’s cool. 😉 During the week were both all about easy basics but on the weekend it’s fun to get a little more dressed up in some cute pieces that are still comfortable like this light weight maxi skirt and Ava’s dress, both from Lemon Pop!So glad this little lady wants to wear hats now and actually keeps them on too! All about whites, denim, wide brim hats and fun sandals for both of us!! Obsessed with that grin! Photos by LoveThisPhotography
Okay lovelies I posted a picture on instagram with this stroller and so many of you asked about it so today i’m doing a full post on it. I wanted to use it for a few weeks to make sure I could give the best and most honest review possible so here we go! The kind people at Stokke sent their Crusi stroller to me a few weeks ago and have to say it is seriously ammmmazing (and i’m not just saying that because it was gifted)! First and for most I LOVE the simple and sleek design of it! If you are a mama of two you know pushing a double stroller is a GAME CHANGER and can be so heavy and hard to steer. The absolute best part about this stroller is that it is SUPER easy to maneuver and is SO much lighter than any other double stroller i’ve tried. It honestly feels like you are only pushing a single stroller (even with both kids in it). This stroller is a bit pricey but you honestly are getting what you pay for and you can really feel the difference! I’ll be completely honest I did have my doubts about the second seat option.
