37 Week Update

I can’t believe I am now considered full term and Ava could come any day!! As the days go I become more and more excited to meet her!! Im also physically becoming more ready to meet her as pregnancy (even if for the most part you have a smooth one) can take a toll on your body. I updated Honeybee Facebook and Instagram yesterday with photos but wanted to do a full update…

How far along: 37 Weeks (9 months 1 week)
(*FYI for those of you who don’t know a pregnancy is technically 40 weeks (10 months!) Before I became pregnant I had no idea! I always thought it was 9 months. So my due date is still a few weeks out but really hoping she comes in the next week or so if she is ready!)

Gender: Girl

Total weight gain: 26 pounds gained! I feel the weight is picking up pretty quickly now and my appetite has definitely increased in the last couple weeks! They say this is the time the baby really gains weight which I know is true because this little lady already weighs about 7 pounds!!

Maternity clothes: Yes still mixed in with my regular clothes but the 9 month mark was a whole different ball game. Things that used to be way to big do not fit anymore. Hence the lack of “look of the day” posts because most of my outfits are repeated because only a handful of things fit!

Stretch marks: Not yet! Still moisturizing!!!

Sleep: Surprisingly pretty good this week. I am still using three different pillows and getting up multiple times to waddle to the bathroom but I think I just must be getting used to it by now.

Miss Anything: Being able to drive comfortably, cocktails, not having to take mandatory naps, walking without suddenly having a “pimp limp” due to round ligament pain (pelvic bone softening preparing for birth) and many other “TMI” things that happen during pregnancy (pick up Jenny McCarthys Belly Laughs book if you want to know more 😉

Movement: Oh yes! I can’t wait to kiss this little foot I have become some familiar with! She is going to be a soccer player like her mama!

Cravings: I CAN NOT be trusted around a bag of Whole Foods Golden Grahamz cereal! I have been through two bags this week!!

Symptoms: No labor symptoms yet. Im still having a ton of round ligament pain. No Braxton Hicks contractions either! (those are like real contractions but non producing meaning they don’t make your cervix dilate) My doctor said some women don’t get them at all.

Belly Button in or out: Out

Mood: Happy, anxious and nervous!

Looking forward to: My next doctors appointment tomorrow to see if I have dilated anymore! I was 1 cm last week. At my ultrasound last week we got to see little Ava sucking on her little hand! She seriously looks so much like her daddy already!!! We’ll see how accurate that is when we get to hold her in real life! (did you moms find your babies looked like your ultrasounds pics?)
Also the tech said she was suppppper low so lets just hope she stays that way.

Exercise: Still just walking a few days a week now.

Nutrition: Still trying to eat pretty well but have been more relaxed about indulging now. I have been pretty lucky throughout the first 8 months of pregnancy to only have craved healthy things and was really active so Im just listening to my body. It has definitely been saying I’m hungry!I want Ava to be as chunky as she can be!

Favorite moments this week: Seeing our little mama on the ultrasound! She has some serious cheeks already! Its so crazy that there is a little life just chillin’ inside my belly! I don’t think it has truly hit me that I am going to be a mama!!!! I can’t wait to hold her! Okay i’m definitely prego because I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about it and writing this post!

  8. You look radiant, so excited for your family!! Just started following your blog ~2 weeks ago I'm glad I found you. Your eating habits are truly an inspiration.

    Enjoy these next few weeks:-)

  9. First of all you look beautiful for 37 weeks! I just had my baby boy 6 weeks ago and he definitely looked like his ultrasound pics. When we had our last ultrasound at 40 weeks (I was a week late) we saw his perfectly round head and chubby cheeks. When he made his appearance at 41 weeks he still had the chubby cheeks and round head. I can't wait to see pictures!

    1. thank you! congrats on your baby boy! Good to know they look like the ultrasound. I kept hearing mixed reviews when we were debating doing the 3d ultra sound xo

  10. You look amazing for 37 weeks!! You made me teary eyed as it has been almost 12 years since I had my little diva. Birthing was the most amazing experience that my husband and I have ever shared. Enjoy it and can't wait to meet baby girl!!

  11. I love the cravings! It's so funny how different and how specific everyone's are! I only wanted toast with chive cream cheese spread on it with my little lady! You look so great for 37 weeks! She really could be here any day! I have my fingers crossed for you because I know how much you just want to meet her at this point!

  12. Found your blog recently and have been loving watching your journey through pregnancy! You are stunning! Love the name you picked – my little one is Ava Lynn 😉 We are having a boy in a couple months and are very excited to be giving her a little sibling! Just wanted to pop in and tell you a couple more things I didn't know when I was pregnant: 1. After you have the baby you'll look like you're 6 months pregnant – I thought my stomach would magically disappear. 2. I never imagined the need to mentally prepare for a c-section but we ended up having an emergency and needing to get her out ASAP – you might want to read up on it it b/c I was FREAKING out! 3. you'll never know love like when you stare into your baby's eyes for the first time – GAH! There I go tearing up! Congrats to you and your hubby! Hope she comes soon!

    1. thank you so much Celestyn and congrats to you on your little boy! I had heard that about still looking prego after you deliver so I'm trying to prepare myself to take it easy and not expect to bounce right back! i just want to enjoy those first "trying" but precious months with my little girl! i can't wait to meet her!!

  13. You look great! Don't believe everything you read in prenatal books, some of them are getting to be ridiculous. There are 52 weeks in a year, divide that by 12 months and each month is 4.33 weeks, not 4 weeks… 9 months = 38.9 weeks, let's just say 39. And pregnancy is 40 weeks… so it's always been said to be 9 months. If it were 10 months we would all be pregnant for 43 1/2 weeks! 🙂

  14. You are absolutely stunning. I love your blog and I can't wait to follow your journey becoming a new mama. Congratulations!

  15. thank you ladies for all your kind and encouraging comments! It means so much to share this journey with you and love the advice you girls give as well! xo
