MONDAY MOOD: How I Find Motivation

Happy Monday loves! I’m back with another Monday Mood post, which is all about helping to get your week off to a good start especially with all this craziness going on. So far I’ve covered the workout equipment I use weekly and how we stay organized as a family, and this week I thought I’d talk about motivation. I know with the current situation it can leave us all feeling slightly unmotivated so today I’m sharing a few things I do that help keep me motivated (because believe me, I’m def not always motivated either).

Mood or Inpso Board

Whether it’s planning for an event like Ava’s Backyard Tent birthday , revamping/styling areas in our home or if I need to get my butt in gear with healthier living, I love a good inspo board. I used to go old school and use actual magazines but now I’m always on Pinterest which is basically a digital inspiration board. Not to mention it’s almost therapeutic for me.  I started putting together my Monthly Cravings posts which will cover my inspo vibe each month too. Whenever I’m in a rut or needing something to inspire me, a mood board always helps motivate me. So grab that stack of magazines and scissors or follow my Pinterest boards and create your own to get the creative juices flowing!

Quotes

Another reason I love Pinterest – all the cute and inspiring quotes! I save tons of these to this board and then usually end up saving some for my phone or desktop background. This quote is a favorite lately and it’s a great motivator for working out or healthy habits you want to establish.

Recipe searching

I think we can agree a little motivation in the weekly meal routine is needed from time to time.  Flipping through my physical cookbooks always helps motivate me to add in something new and exciting.  I’ve shared these before but here are some of our fave household cookbooks (You know I love Skinny Taste) and then I have a TON of Clean Eats recipes on Pinterest:

Trying on summer clothes

Can I get an Amen?! 😉  If I’m ever slacking on workouts or eating well, all it takes is a quick swimsuit try on to get my butt back to the gym or skipping those extra glasses of wine. I love feeling confident in whatever I’m wearing because a healthy mindset and confidence goes such a long way in all aspects. I want to do an updated Honeybee Health post for you girls but you can check out this post where I shared several health and fitness tips I still live by.

Podcasts

I’m just kinda getting into podcasts but there are SO many good ones out there! From learning about healthy to beauty to motherhood to how to be a more productive person, there’s literally a podcast for it all. It’s honestly like a little self-help in the form of a quick show and those are the ones I turn to when I’m feeling down or in a rut. Some faves: The Skinny Confidential Him & Her, Almost 30, Goop, Mama Said… what do you girls listen to?? Please share!

What do you girls rely on for motivation? I’d love to hear!

  1. So glad to see this on the blog today “MOTIVATION” !! Today, was my first day of radiation for treatment of Breast Cancer. My very early appointment’s for the next 3 week’s are wanting to keep in bed longer than usual, especially that we are all in quarantine mode and really don’t have to get up since there is no home schooling here nor working from home since my guy and I are retired. (Thankful for that). So what get’s me up and out you ask….it’s crazy, but in a weird way has me motivated and that’s the moment I open my eye’s I know it’s a new day, do what I have to, and then the rest of the day I can do what I want. I get up and have a healthy breakfast before I leave for treatment, when I’m done, I come home. I’ve done small projects to start like cleaned and reorganized my craft room, makeup vanity, reorganized pantry, cabinet’s, and even worked in my garden. I’ve been making lists of all the thing’s I’ll be needing to replenish as soon as we are able to get out again. I find that if I write down and cross off the complete project’s I don’t have time to waste and there is no better feeling than completing something that just keeps getting pushed down the list. Ex. of my motivation: Writing thing’s down and crossing them off LOL
