The Beauty Edit // Best of 2020

Alright babes, you know I can’t end the year without some beauty talk! To round out the year, I wanted to chat with you girls about some of my favorite beauty items I purchased this  the year. These are the beauty essentials that immediately come to mind when asked what my most used products are. Instead of my MONTHLY Beauty Edit, I thought I’d switch this month’s to a yearly review of the products I loved most this year. Consider these my holy grail products that I use most often and that truly saved me during the whole beauty-at-home situation that was 2020. For more faves, you can see all MONTHLY BEAUTY EDITS right here if you girls want the full breakdown!

ONE

This Steampod Straightener is a game changerrr! Honestly I was skeptical about a straighter that uses steam but this one works SO well (and love that it’s less damaging for your hair too)! I’ve been using it for a few months now and definitely notice a difference in my texture, probably due to less damage. You can also create pretty beach waves with this so it’s a great all-around product if you girls are in the market!

TWO

You girls know my love for the Dyson Airwrap is real by now and it’s probably my favorite beauty splurge of the year- definitely tops out this list too! I’ve written my full thoughts and shared a tutorial on how I use it in this post if you girls want to hear more. Can’t tell you how much I love this for saving time & the blow-out look at home (especially in 2020 when I have barely seen my hairdresser).

THREE

No surprise that Patrick Ta lip product makes the list as it’s probably my most worn of the year. Honestly, I’m into everything he does but his Matte Lipstick and Lip Crayon (Liner) are my fave products of his. My favorite colors are ‘She’s Not From Here’ for a bright orangish/red or ‘Oh She’s Single’ for a nude/brown. His true red ‘That’s Why She’s Late’ is also a go-to red for me.

FOUR

The best $6 you can spend when it’s that time of the month if you have a blemish coming in! I’ve used these pimple patches for years and just pop one on to diminish the look and time of the zit.

FIVE

2020 was definitely the year of at-home facials so I picked up this Pore Extractor & Infuser to do things on my own. I’ve been really impressed with how well this works and how gentle it is in terms of extracting. Plus, it infuses your serum into your skin so you know everything is working overtime. Love that it’s a 2-in-1 since you girls know I’m all those multitasking products and it’s under $100! You can see how I use this and few of my other at home facial products my full at-home facial routine HERE.

SIX

Another item I’ve used for YEARS but since it’s a staple, I’ve gotta include it in this list! This pomade stick is my holy grail for taming fly-aways whether my hair is down or in a sleek ponytail. Think I first got this when I was battling postpartum hair loss/regrowth and it’s been in my beauty vanity ever since.

SEVEN

You’ve definitely seen me use this Smashbox Face Contour Palette It has blush, highlighter, and bronzer all in one and is a great everyday staple for adding some warmth to your complexion. Colors are gorg and a perfect all in one palette!

EIGHT

Let’s talk concealers! I have pretty bad dark circles (that mom life!) that I’ve actually had forever so I’m always on the hunt for good coverage in this area. I found this concealer this year and while it’s pricey, for me it’s worth it. It’s great at color-correcting and hiding dark circles without weighing anything down. Plus, it has SPF 25 which I haven’t seen in many concealers so love that it’s protecting my eye area when it’s applied. A little goes a long way so it lasts forever too.

NINE

Going on 10 months without a manicure so I’m beyond thankful for Static Nails at this point. They’re super easy to apply and actually stay put pretty well. They have a bunch of different colors and prints depending on what you girls are into.

TEN

Alongside concealers, I’m always testing out new eyeliners, especially for a more dramatic cat-eye. I have been obsessed with the KVD Tattoo Eyeliner lately since it truly stays all damn day and is pretty easy to apply.

ELEVEN

Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Pillow Talk’ has a cult following so you know I had to try out her eyeshadow palette with the famous colors. Similar to the Pillow Talk lipstick, these shades look good on just about anyone and is a daily fave that I reach for often. A couple of options have slight shimmer so you can add a little something to the nudes when you’re wanting it. I’ll use this one for years, for sure!

Alright loves, those are the top beauty products that come to mind in 2020 that I can’t do without!

What’s on your 2020 beauty edit?? Any faves I need to try?!
