How to Create a Quick and Easy Fourth of July Tablescape

Alright ladies….I am the queen of last-minute entertaining. I feel like I am ALWAYS rushing to the grocery store to whip something up last minute when we have people over. So today I thought I would share a post on how to create a quick and easy fourth of July tablescape that you can literally throw together  in under an hour. I’m talking give me alllll the shortcuts! I made one stop to the grocery store and most of it was pre-prepped! If you’re a last-minute kind of gal like me, I think you’ll enjoy this post….

So the hubby is always the grill master and I handle the sides and table setting. I’m all about quick and easy so I try my best to get things that are already pre-prepped (because ain’t nobody got time for “from scratch ;). I like to focus on a few things that will really make a difference in making the table appear more pulled together. For this tablescape, it was the inexpensive centerpiece and some bottle beverages….

Bottled beverages are a little more expensive but I think they just look so much better than a bunch of cans. I added some old fashioned Coke bottles (perfect color scheme for the fourth table), some larger, chicer looking bottled water and, of course, a no brainer…wine!

Backyard entertaining tends to be much more informal so no need for a full on formal table setting. My local grocery had the cutest paper plate and napkin options for the 4th and I think they added a fun and festive element to the table (and no dishes so YEAH for that!).

So the focus for the tablescape was a festive centerpiece. This literally took me 10 mins to put together and cost under $25! I actually prefer the look of a monochromatic arrangement so I opted for just all white hydrangeas. I grabbed two bundles along with a few mini American Flags (they were $0.60 a piece at my grocery store) and put them into a larger pot that I already had. This is super easy, inexpensive and you can do this yourself at home with just about whatever vase you already have!

I always love to have something set up for people to snack on as soon as they arrive. I am obsessed with this bagged salad that I shared on IG stories today! It’s with kale, brussel sprouts, dried cranberries and a few other things but it just tastes SO good and doesn’t look cheap like some of the other bagged salad options. I buy two and toss in a big bowl and it’s ready to go!  Sliced fruit (watermelon is my go to in the Summer) and a super quick and easy cheese plate are a must.

I love having at least two different kinds of crackers, some sort of nut and dried fruit, a spread (usually raw honeycomb or today this amazing fig jam) and about three different kind of cheeses. Toss it on a plate and watch it go! 😉 I picked up this plastic platter plate from the grocery store too. Cheese plates can be a little bit time consuming so for this one I picked a few cheeses and salami that were already pre cut so it took a few minutes to do this one. (For more tips on easy cheese plates, check out this post.)

My grocery store also had a little specialty section with this cute little candle holder with straw rope detail. Honestly you could re-make them for $5 with a trip your local craft store but just thought they were perfect for Summer and added a little ambiance to the table.

This easy and fun dessert is something my kids LOVE making every Summer. I buy angel food cake (as you saw on my IG stories I opted for the pre made loaf and just cut in slices- hellllo time saver 😉 and added blueberries, strawberries and some vanilla whip cream for a festive DIY dessert station.

as you can see Ava wasted no time getting set up! 😉
