6 Easy Ways to Cozy Up Your Home For The Holidays

With only a week away from Christmas it felt fitting to sharing a little cozy Christmas home decor today!  While my interior style typically leans more towards modern and edgy, I always gravitate towards cozy classic Christmas decor during the holidays. It just makes the whole house feel warm, inviting and a place you’ll want to hang out in the whole month long!

For Christmas Decor in our home, it’s not so much about adding a bunch of knick-knacks but more so about festive elements that help create that magical cozy Christmas vibe. I do keep a few sentimental things from years past like a Christmas cookie plate my stepmom used to always put out, the stockings my mom made up over our mantle and the vintage reindeer bells we keep on the front door that I grew up with at Christmas time. They’re special to me and always love bringing those out. As for decor…

Tip 1- Add in the Greenery!

Fresh garlands and wreaths make all the difference- honestly the more the merrier! I prefer the real deal and stock up at Trader’s since they’re so much cheaper there. However, since we like to get a jump on the decor in November, a lot of the stuff starts getting crispy a few weeks in so I’m contemplating investing in some faux ones (linked the ones I’m eyeing at the end of this post).

Tip 2-Poinsettias Everywhere

I love Poinsettias and stock up! I have them everywhere in my house during the holidays and they’re pretty much the only plant I don’t kill so I go overload on them.

Tip 3- Bring on That Christmas Glow

Candles, lights, fireplace magic…yes please! I always put up some string lights in our breakfast nook and the kiddos love it (also linked below). I try not to buy too many new pieces during the holidays and reuse items from years prior but there are a couple things I do like to buy new each year like barware and candle holders. It’s just a fun (and not so expensive) way to add something new without breaking the bank. I ordered two new candle holders this year and used them on my coffee tables inside and outside and love how they turned out!

Tip 4-Pops of Color

If you already have the poinsettias, try adding in velvet pillows! I love bringing these out during the holidays (a deep green would be really fun too) and they instantly add a moment to any place you toss them!

Tip 5- Tis the Season to Splurge on a Festive Candle

I always love treating myself to a new candle during the holidays. Full post on my all-time favorites candles HERE. They always make the house so inviting and are a great way to make your house smell like the holidays especially if you don’t have a real tree.

Tip 6- Time to Deck Out Those Bar Cart

and I always love switching up my cart each season and it’s always a crowd-pleaser when friends come over. It doesn’t have to be over the top but can be something as simple as some new champagne flutes, a festive candle holder and a holiday plant. I also shared THIS ONE last year where I went a little more fancy with our bar cart.

Alright girls, I hope this was helpful and that you all are enjoying the holidays as best we can this year!

  1. Love those tea light holders from C & B that are on your coffee table. What sizes did you get? You just filled them with red tea lights?
