YEAH for Date Night!

Its been way to long since the hubby and I have been on a date night. I will admit its really tough sometimes not living close to family. We don’t have a nanny and I have yet to leave Ava with anyone. I was hoping by now I would be a little more relaxed about getting a babysitter but I’m just still not there yet. So needless to say we count down the days till grandma comes to town! I’m totally content with our mellow Friday and Saturday nights in with the baby but I forgot just how fun it was to go out and “date” my husband. We’ve been so busy and focused on the babe that I forgot how much I missed that!
Last weekend we went to one of my favorite OC date night spots Side Door in Corona Del Mar. We used to go there all the time pre baby but its one of those spots that doesn’t take reservations and usually has a little wait. If you’re a parent with younger kids you know if theres a “wait” you’ll be heading to the next restaurant that has immediate seating. Anyhow I really missed this spot and thought I would share it with you ladies who are in OC…I highly recommend checking it out!
I absolutely adore the vibe, its low key and the decor is so charming!
Not to mention they have great hand crafted cocktails (something OC kind of lacks in).
They also have amazing cheese plates and my favorite…wine and beer flights!!!
This is definitely a cheat night kind of place but leave it to me try to still order something healthy! (I can’t help myself lol) The Salmon and Ahi tartare were fabulous! (I also had a beet salad but inhaled it before I remember to take a pic)
The hubby on the other hand never leaves here without having his favorite prime rib chili cheese fries!
I balanced out my healthiness with a few warm doughnuts in a yummy dipping sauce.
And of course a  little duck face action after our cocktails ;)))
