PF Changs “Healthier” Lettuce Wraps

Im a huge fan of PF Changs lettuce wraps but everytime I order them I realize they have a ton of oil, making them not so healthy. Here is a cleaner recipe I found on Pinterest (Eat Yourself Skinny) that tastes SOOO good! These are perfect for a girls night in or when you don’t feel like having a heavy meal! I will definitely be making these often!!

Ingredients:
One package of lean ground turkey
12 Boston Lettuce Leaves (I used Iceberg)
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 Garlic Clove minced (I forgot to use this and still turned out great)
1/8 tsp Ground Ginger
2/3 cup finely chopped green onion
8oz can of water chestnuts (drained coarsely chopped)

3 Tbsp Hoisin Sauce
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
2 tsp Chili Paste
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.  Add turkey, garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for about 6 minutes or until turkey is browned.  Stir to crumble.  Combine turkey mixture, onions and chopped water chestnuts in a large bowl, stirring well, and set aside.
Meanwhile in a small bowl, whisk together hoisin, soy sauce, rice vinegar and roasted red chili paste and drizzle over the turkey mixture.  Toss to coat completely.  Add about 1/4 cup of the turkey mixture to each lettuce cup and enjoy!

  4. I love lettuce wraps too, I may have to try this. The last time I made them, I just threw what I had together and tossed it in lettuce. 🙂 So…maybe it'll be good to have a guide? Ha!

  5. Hi Andee, Iv been following your blog and facebook for a few weeks now all the way from Scotland and I love it! It has also inspired me to start eating better, less processed food, cupcakes etc and start trying all the products you mention. Got a jar of coconut oil today – just need to figure out what to do with it! I wondered if there was some way you would be able to post a general note in regards to when nutritional values/labelling I should be looking for and avoiding. Im totally clueless with all the labelling and worried Im not confident in picking the best healthy/clean foods. Many thanks in advance xoxo
