My Current Makeup Must Haves

Happy Fridayyyy! Alright my lovely ladies todays post is all about what’s in my makeup drawer. I receive tons of questions on the products I use so i’m making a major list of all my current heavy hitters! So lets get started…

In the bronzer department my two go to powder bronzers are Hoola by Benefit (I’ve been using this for close to 10 years now!) and Too Faced chocolate soleil bronzer. They are both matte which I love! I recently started using this Maybelline FIT cream stick bronzer for contouring and really love it! Its a little on the warmer side but perfect for Summer. Another one in the rotation is Mac taupe and Harmony. All awesome bronzers! As for highlighters I was WAY late getting on the YSL touché eclate bandwagon but can totally see why people love it. I use it when I do some subtle contouring and like that it doesn’t have a shimmer to it. I think Mac Prep+ Prime is similar to this as well.
Benefit Sun Beam is my go to in the summer time..think J Lo glow! It’s warm and has just enough glow for daytime. I’m not really a huge fan of the nail polish like bottle BUT the product is that good I keep repurchasing it. Nars Albatross is a powder highlighter I have been using for FOREVER! It has a nice shimmer but not overpowering so it can also be worn during the day. Lastly if you’re looking for a night out, killer highlighter go for Mac Strobe Liquid Lotion.

Okay now on to the Base! I am a foundation addict and am FOREVER trying new ones. The current rotation consists of the ones above! In my fashion pics on the blog i’m pretty much always using Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. It is a FULL coverage foundation so it really hides any imperfections. This is a foundation that won’t budge and lasts ALL day. No need for powder or reapplying. That being said it’s a bit to heavy for me for day time so I go with the Double Wear light for that. It has just enough coverage but as heavy. The one I am really loving the most right now is MUFE HD Foundation. Great coverage and feels great on my skin! Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation is also amazing! It feels like butter on the skin and the color match is perfect. I do feel like this one tends to clog my pores a bit and does need a little powder throughout the day to keep the shine away. Lastly Laura Mercier silk creme foundation has been a staple for years!

Concealers Concealers Concealers! Now if you girls have been following me you know my holy grail is Cle De Peau. It is definitely not budget friendly but if your budget allows and you have serious dark circles I would highly recommend. A little bit does go a long way so the tube will last you awhile. My other go to’s are Mac Moisture Cover concealer, Benefits Erase paste and one by Bobbi Brown concealer.

Let’s talk brushes shall we?! Youtube beauty guru sisters Pixiwoo came out with this line of brushes called Real Techniques and I am a HUGE fan! I use pretty much all of their brushes because they’re awesome and affordable too! The only non Real Techniques brushes I use are the Mac angled brush (for my brows) and the Mac Stipiling brush (for my foundation). I hear Sigma brushes are great as well but have yet to try them.  As far as mascara goes Too Faced “Better than Sex Mascara” is the shizzz 😉 I wasn’t blessed with long curly lashes but these mascara definitely adds volume and length without clumping. I also included the YSL shocking mascara in this set. Funny thing is that when I first purchased it I was going to write on post telling you girls not to waste your money on this one butttt after some time I really started to love it. It’s a tinted mascara (plum color) so it really make my eyes pop but while still looking natural. Some of the other colored mascaras are too bold and look very obvious. This one doesn’t give the fullness like the Too Faced mascara so I would recommend it if you don’t need the added volume. I think I may look into some other tinted mascaras and see if I can find one that gives the fullness and that pretty plum color. (If you know of any please share!) Lastly liquid liner is a must for me because I am a cat eye junkie! The one from Mac is awesome as well as the NYC liquid liner. It lasts all day and it super cheap!

I hope this beauty breakdown was helpful for you girls and as always I LOVE hearing what makeup products you cant live with out! (because we could always use more makeup right?! lol)

  1. Hi Andee! Thanks so much for sharing your pics!! What shade do you use in Armani Luminous Silk? Also, for your Too Faced bronzer, do you use chocolate or milk chocolate? Can't wait to try both of them!!

  2. Fun post – love seeing what your makeup faves are because you always look flawless! Am definitely curious about the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation – for special occasions I use MAC Pro Longwear concealer as a foundation (only takes a tiny amount to cover my whole face and it does.not.budge!) but for daily wear I use Bare Minerals Matte powder – evens up my skintone but doesn't clog my pores.

  3. I tried Cle De Peau concealer, and other than the fact that beige color matches my skin perfectly, it is just not a good concealer to me. It creases like crazy on me and is gone by the lunch break if I apply it in the morning. I am not sure how it has such amazing reviews and how people love it so much – it doesn't even hide dark circles so well – they still show in pictures. On the other hand, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer hides my imperfections and doesn't crease, but the colors are not good – they are either too light or too dark for my liking. So, my search for the perfect concealer continues :(. I am just mad, I spent so much money on Cle De Peau and now have to return it – sigh.

  4. Loved this post! I'm obsessed with NARS products, especially their tinted moisturizer and creamy radiant concealer!

  5. Andee, I use Diorshow mascara- it is the best mascara! I have thin lashes and this mascara makes my eyelashes look like I'm wearing falsies. Try it 🙂

  6. Thanks for sharing your beauty secrets!! I am a cat eye junkie too. I really do not like the look of shiny black liquid eyeliner. I like the MAC one but that smudges. The best liquid eyeliner I have found is Shwing from TheBalm. It is AMAZING!! Also, Bobbi Brown has come out with the best nude shades ever – they are very wearable and natural shades of nude (creamy matte formula). Do check them out cuz they stay put on the lips all day! 🙂

  7. Hey girl! I've been a follower for a while and I think you are fab! I started working for a direct sales company in Feb. called Younique. You may have heard of it?! If so, have you tried it? Anyhow, I love your energy and positivity and I was wondering if I could send you a free set of 3d fiber mascara to try out to see if you like it? . It's an incredible mascara that is all natural, made from green tea leaves, and has tons of beneficial ingredients in it! It contains a gel that applies like mascara, then you apply the green tea fibers to extend you lashes, then the gel again to seal in the fibers. It lasts all day and washes off with your regular face soap! I have run 1/2 marathons in this mascara and it doesn't budge. Just love it! Let me know if you would be interested in trying I would love to mail you a set. You are welcome to text me or email me if you would rather. 🙂
    Sincerely,

  8. Can you share the shades you use in the foundation and concealer picks in your post? I also love cle de pear for concealer. Another great one is laura Mercier concealer and camouflage. I live makeup forever face and body foundation. Super light, but the coverage can be sheer to full coverage, as it is buildable. For powder foundation, definitely la bella donna is worth a peek. Love Bobbi brown gel liners and NYC super skinny liquid liner!
