Korakia Pensione // A Palm Springs Gem

A few weeks ago the hubby and I took our first solo over night trip (EVER) without the kids! We are pretty attached to our babes and taking a trip without them is something we have both struggled with so we always bring them with us. I’ve said it before but traveling with kids (especially the ones that are under two) is tough. You definitely have your great moments but IT IS A LOT OF WORK. Sometimes you end up coming home from your vacation even more exhausted than before you left. So earlier this year we vowed that we’d start with a close overnighter just the two of us and i’m SO glad we finally did it.
We go to Palm Springs a few times a year (my girlfriend actually just told me “you guys need to calm down with Palm Springs” and she’s probably right lol) but it’s just such a special little place that is close, easy and always a good time. I have been dying to stay at the Korakia Penisone for a couple years now but they don’t allow kids so I thought this would be the perfect place to sneak away for our first kid free overnighter. Have you moms ever been on a girls trip or vacay away from you kids. only to end up a resort with ALL families then you start missing your babes?! That happened to me the first overnighter I did with girlfriends when Ava was a baby. So it was actually really nice to be at a kid free establishment for a change.
The Korakia seriously did not disappoint! I shared so many clips of this beautiful place (and my obnoxious hubby 😉 on my SnapChat (AndeeLayne) but here are some more shots of our quick desert get away…….
Our first stop coming into town was at a cute little restaurant called The Farm. The Kings Highway Cafe is our go to spot but we wanted to try something new and switch it up a bit. The Farm is right in downtown Palm Springs but tucked away in a quiet little corner and is absolutely adorable. The food was awesome and the blood orange mimosas were amazing!
How charming is this little restaurant?!
After lunch we checked in to the Korakia and it was beyond charming! This was more of a bed breakfast type place and I will say the hubby and I were a little iffy about vacationing somewhere that doesn’t have room service and didn’t serve alcohol but it ended up being such an amazing stay. (You can bring your own wine etc. they just don’t serve it there)
(Open Shoulder Dress (limited sizes left) Same style different color HERE , Two Piece Set HERE, Short Dress Version HERE + Wide Brim Hat another budget friendly option HERE)
We spent the after noon just relaxing and hanging out at the pool
Lace Bikini (scalloped white bikini option on sale HERE) // Tie Dye Wrap (another pretty option HERE and HERE) // Hat // my go to Nude Sandals // Wore these Sunnies
Every inch of this place is photo worthy!
They even have bikes you can rent and ride into town!
We went to dinner at one of my favorite spots, Workshop Kitchen + Bar.
The restaurant is super cute with a great patio and fab modern decor inside.
The food and cocktails are really good too!
You girls know I am obsessed with the Smore’s shake from Great Shakes. So after dinner we had to make a quick pit atop and snag a couple to take back to our hotel…
We popped a squat 😉 on this adorable little patio where they were showing classic movies on the lawn.
We met some awesome neighbors who were so kind to give us a bottle of wine. We spent the rest of the night just hanging by our bungalow next the fire pits and pool listening to Amy Winehouse and Marvin Gaye on this amazing record player they had in our room!
I mean seriously waking up to this view was a dream!

and just because we were on a kid free vacation doesn’t mean we still didn’t wake up at 7am. 😉  We were the first ones out to breakfast but LOVED the peaceful quiet courtyard.
The breakfast was included and had a few different options to choose from (all which were really good!) After breakfast we layed out by the pool for an hour or so and then got a little anxious to head back to our babes. I’m so glad that we took the time to get away with just the two of us. Life is crazier now than ever before. It’s easy to get wrapped up in work and juggling the kids and all their activities but I think it’s still so important to try to nourish your relationship with your partner too. Being able to take a quick little trip with just us and be silly and feel like we were still dating was so refreshing! This place was just such a unique and special experience and am so happy we finally got to check it out!
