6 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Guest Bedroom This Holiday Season

I’m super excited to annouce that I’ve teamed up with Crate & Barrel again (just like for the Halloween collection!) to style my guest room makeover which you can see in full right this way.

My main goal here was to take our current guest room (aka my working studio when we aren’t hosting) and to make it feel ready for guests and the holiday season. I don’t usually go this full out with the room but after seeing the collection, I leaned heavily into the plaid and moody colors to take the room from bright and airy to festive and cozy!

Since I know a lot of you girls are also hosting and probably looking for ways to spruce up your guest area, I wanted to give you all my exclusive tips in this article! So let’s get into it but first, a before & after of the space…

BEFORE

AFTER

Invest in a nice looking sleeper sofa

This is a year-round guest room tip because it’s essential to using the space when you aren’t hosting. As I mentioned, I use this room to shoot content so I need space – and the room isn’t large enough for a bed and space for shooting. So I went with this Sleeper Sofa which we have loved! It looks SO chic as is but it transitions into a bed which is super convenient while hosting guests. If you have a spare room you don’t fully want to turn into a bedroom this is the perfect piece!

Pick holiday pieces that flow with your home

I love this Plaid Bedding to make the room look cozy and festive, but it still fits with the overall moodiness of our house. We have a lot of dark colors throughout so while it’s festive, it still flows with our decor – and doesn’t feel overly holiday, you know? Of course, I had to add in some Christmassy colors and these Velvet Pillow Covers are my fave. I use them all over the house!

Have a seating option (other than the bed)

I think this Chair ties everything together and it also gives another seating option for guests – other than sitting on the bed. It’s super comfortable and I’m into the modern feel it adds to the room.

Add texture for warmth

You can’t host overnight guests without a few cozy blankets in the room so I added this Sherpa Throw to the mix. This would look good in any area of the house!

Bring the holidays in with decor

Since the holidays are pretty quick, I didn’t want to go overboard with the festive decor but I did have to grab a few fun pieces because you girls know I love decorating! This Faux-Tree was essential! It’s pre-lit and comes in a chic black pot. I also added these Pre-Lit Wreaths to the window for one more festive touch – I did this in other parts of our home as well!

Utitlize a side table as a nightstand

This Side Table doubles as the side table to the couch and then also a nightstand when the sofa is pulled out. I’ll probably remove the decor from it when my family comes to town so they have more room for charging their phone, water, or whatever they need next to the bed.
