My Tips for Hosting the Ultimate Galentine’s Brunch

Valentine’s Day is almost here! Which means it’s time to celebrate those you love, whether it be your kids, significant other or your girlfriends! I admit a lot of the decor can be a little over-the-top but there are ways to keep it festive and chic without drugstore decor overload. I’ve been wanting to host a GALentines brunch for forever so today I’m sharing one.

I’ve been wanting to get together with the girls since I haven’t seen a lot of them before the holidays but with work, family time, the very rare downtime, it’s been hard to carve out that quality time. But kid-free, girlfriend time is super important and deserves to be celebrated right?! Rather than try and get everyone together for a dinner out on the town I decided to invite the girls over for a weekday Galantine’s brunch. There are a few hours in the morning when all of our kiddos are at school so that seemed like the best time to catch up with my favorite mamas. Keeping with the theme of always quick and easy (this isn’t an eggs benedict kind of brunch) -it’s all about the lite bites, sweets AND lots of rosé of course! First things first…

Rosé s’il vous plait

I love a good bar car moment (still can’t believe I scored This One on SALE for under 100!) and who can pass up a Rosé filled bar cart?! Not me! I placed my cart right by the front entrance with rosé already poured and ready for sipping! It’s a nice surprise and sets the tone for the brunch. I personally don’t discriminate when it comes to rosé 😉 but I thought it would be nice to have a few different options (so picked up a few of my personal favorites below).

This brunch took all of 10 minutes to throw together (ok, I admit the floral arrangement took a little longer but you can go with a store bought grocery option) – they really do have some great options these days or you can opt for roses in the all same color family. Simple, festive and no fuss.

I skipped Trader Joe’s this time and headed to Whole Foods because they have the most ah-mazing mini deserts! You know the mini carrot cakes, cream puffs, berry tarts etc? I know a lot of bakery sections in grocery stores have a good selection too. I spent a little more on those speciality desserts and then went more budget-friendly with the pre packed croissants, cookies and donuts.  I love a full spread with a ton of variety…and after all, GALentines calories don’t count right?!

When I first started getting my serving ware out and playing around with the flowers it started to look a little Marie Antoinette so I decided to stick with shades of pink, white and silver. Adding red and gold was too over-the-top. I wanted to keep the vibe feminine and sweet without screaming Valentine’s with chocolate hearts and red roses. These Soft Pink “dripless” candlesticks are definitely a must!

Creating a thoughtful presentation

As mentioned above i’m all about pre made grocery store items but i’m big believer in a thoughtful presentation! It’s the best way to dress up any grocery store treat.  I’m always using my tiered serving stand for sweet treats. I used cake stands for the croissants and donuts.  For some reason when I take things off the table and elevate them a bit it feels fancier.

Add in a few unique elements

I also love adding in a few unique elements to bring the table to life. For this tablescape, I added some fresh flowers into the stacked donuts. It’s a great way to make use of left over florals and instantly just makes them look so much prettier. Then I added a few cute cloches (usually used for candles) to the mix and filled them with jelly centered cookies.  The last decor touch were my flowers and pomegranates (and unexpected hit!). I really just like how pomegranates look when sliced in half. Is that weird?? For the florals, I stuck with mostly soft pinks and whites.

Another unique element for this brunch were these rock candy sticks. I love that they came in a brown sugar option and thought it would be a fun and playful way to switch up from the standard white sugar. I found them  HERE .

and a little “Thank You”

and last but not least, I found these mini bottle of rose’ and thought they would be perfect as a little party favor with printable tags! I appreciate my girlfriends and know we’re all busy these days but I think it’s so important to let them know how grateful I am for them-and what better way than a little rose’ right?!

And voilà, that’s it! A festive and chic GALentines brunch to celebrate your best girls! Side note if you have a favorite Rose’ not mentioned above pleassse share! xo
