Good Morning loves! Things have been moving full speed ahead with our new home and I am WAY overdue for a Honeybee Home update. Seeing it all come together is definitely the most exciting part of our new bu ild journey thus far! So here we go with TONS of sneak peeks of our new modern farmhouse!
Luca’s room is one of my favorites in the house! From the start I knew I wanted it mainly black, white and grey and also wanted to incorporate one of these photo wall murals. The California Coastline seemed liked the perfect fit and I’m in love with how it turned out. A lot of you messaged on Instagram about it and we got it from magicmurals.com (they also have several great ones on this site too).
I can’t wait to show you girls more of Luca’s bathroom! I shared some snaps when we first started of the matte black hexagon tile we choose (on my IG New Home Highlights) and I’m obsessed!
Luca’s Room
The Kids Loft
This is a space we wanted to be fun and cozy but could also transition into the tween hangout eventually too. We had two desks built in so they had a space to do their homework and we also went with HUGE pit-style couch (that you girls may remember from my “NEW HOME” highlight tab on Instagram) so we can all just pile in and watch movies together.
the basic view of Luca these days 😉
In the kids loft we have really high vaulted ceilings and wanted fixtures that were playful but also could fill all the open space. We went with three of these fixtures and love how it turned out.
and can we just talk about Ava’s bathroom?!
I really am just beyond excited for Ava’s and Luca’s rooms! We’ve had so much fun creating them and I can’t wait to share them with you girls. I originally was pinning less girly images for Ava’s room but half way through we went ALL IN with tons of pink and brass.
Ava’s Room
We created a big built in closet and are surprising Ava with a little vanity section for her to do her hair and what not. She always liked sitting at mine so I know she will go nuts for this one in her big girl room too.
Next up…My Home Office!
Working from home is going to be so much better when this fun space is finished! Our home is pretty masculine with tons of black and white (which I wanted) but I also wanted to add some glam elements and thought my office would be a great place to do that. You girls may remember These Velvet Chairs I shared on my insta stories and I am OBSESSED with them! The backs are just stunnnning. I shared a poll asking which green velvet I should go with and the one the majority of you picked is what I went with. They look SO good… so thank you girls! We also decided to really go for it and added siding to the walls last minute. We painted them uber dark (the color is one of my favorites that we used throughout most of the house… it’s Benjamin Moore, Wrought Iron). It gave my office so much mood and I’m allll about it!
Our Master Bedroom
Now the master bedroom is still a little up in the air when it comes to styling. It’s definitely been the most challenging room in the house style wise, but I think we are finally headed in the right direction! We painted our main wall behind our bed dark (like almost black dark) and we had a custom grey slub velvet bed made. I was obsessed with the inspo pic I shared on my “NEW HOME” highlight reel on Instagram but the bed came back and it was more of silver than a dark charcoal grey. It still looks pretty but wasn’t 100% what we originally were going for (which has happened a couple times during this build but I guess that’s to be expected when you’re starting from the ground up). That being said we still like it but just a bummer when you pay to have something custom made and it isn’t as you had hoped. I will try to share a snap of it on my insta stories tomorrow you can let me know your thoughts!
The master bath has also taken a different turn (partly my part for getting side tracked in the slab yard) but it’s coming around and I’m really happy with it! That brass light fixture was one of the first pieces I picked and I knew I needed it somewhere in my house. There will be a floating tub right under it and we’re actually dropping the fixture down a bit so it hits right under the wood beam. Now I just need a really killer piece of art on that wall. I fell in LOVE with an amazing black and white waterfall pic but can’t pull myself to pull the trigger yet bc it’s so priceyyyy! If you girls have any photography websites you love please share!
We added lots of brick wall elements throughout the house.
This is the tile we choose for the living room fireplace. I’m hoping when we grout it, it won’t loose too much of its character.
YEAH for a laundry room that (almost) makes you excited to do laundry 😉
Guest Bath in the works.
A little sneak peek at our kitchen lighting. We went really bold and different but have to say I LOVE them! I can’t wait to share a full kitchen shot with you girls soon!
We also did tons of sky lights so that the house gets great light all day long!
Okay, I hope you girls enjoyed this sneak peek. These pics were taken a few weeks back so we’re actually REALLY close to moving in! YEAH! So stayed tuned for another update and I’ll try to share more snaps on my insta story for you today! Also if you have any questions, leave them below and I’ll try to answer them for you girls. xo
*be sure to check back tomorrow for another MAJOR Nordstrom Anniversary SALE round up because it opens to the PUBLIC! I’ll be sharing more picks bright and early with a another Nordstrom Gift Card GIVEAWAY for you girls too!
