Palm Springs Please

If you ladies follow me on Instagram you saw that I made a quick ladies only 😉 trip to Palm Springs this weekend. Palm Springs is one of my all time favorite getaway spots! Its only about an hour and half from Orange County (without traffic) and is SO relaxing. The neon sunsets, warm evenings and endless cocktails by the pool are just part of the desert charm! To be honest I had been pretty anxious about going on this trip for months in advance. I’d never left Ava overnight and even though I knew she’d be fine but it was me I was worried about!  I’m not going to lie I may have teared up a couple times before we left  just thinking about it (I know total mush and first time mom). Thankfully once we got on the road I was good to go! It was much needed little escape and we had so much fun!  Here are some shots from our quick desert getaway….

Palm Springs essentials…bikinis, sunglasses, oversized hat, pool coverups and a maxi!

There are tons of hotels and resorts in Palm Springs but I LOVE staying at the smaller boutique style hotels. They have that old hollywood charm! This trip we stayed at The Colony Palms Hotel and I highly recommend it! The hotel has morrocan style decor throughout the property and tons of charming courtyards with lots of florals and greenery. This hotel really can accommodate many types of groups. Its great for families, a group of girlfriends and I even saw a few prego moms on their baby moons ;). Its pet friendly as well! It was so cute seeing a few well behaved dogs lounging poolside with their owners! I personally know I could never bring Louie because she would be all over the place lol.

I loved the lounge music they played poolside!
My lovely lady friends xo
The menu had lots of fresh and yummy cocktails to chose from!
Headed out to dinner
We dined at “Workshop” and loved the minimal yet chic decor (walking distance from our hotel)
After dinner we headed over to the Parker Hotel (their infamous “drugs” sign in the lobby pictured above) to grab a drink and do a little people watching.

The next morning we headed over to the must go to brunch spot Cheeky’s (which was right across the street from our hotel) but there was over an hour wait! So we turned right around and came back to our hotel. To come find out the Purple Palm restaurant in our hotel is one of the best in the city! I HIGHLY recommend coming their for at least one meal while you’re in town! How cute is the decor? No surprise its empty inside during the day because everyone was dining on the poolside patio.

Needless to say this Nutella French Toast did not disappoint!
Have you ladies been to Palm Springs?! Where are your favorite spots?!

I have been eating clean because of you! Can you please share what your ordering out tips are? Also, what do you get at Starbucks? Thanks Andee

  3. Parker is the best! Hopefully you got to shop a bit on El Paseo drive! They have a great Sak's, Gucci and James Perse boutique! It is actually in Palm Desert– which is the only place to actually shop in PS!! Be sure to go there next time! And have a marg at Guillermo's!!

  4. What a perfect girls trip! I think if my best friend and I weren't doing our joint bachlorette in San Diego, we would do it in Palm Springs! You girls all are gorgeous too by the way. Love your maxi!

  5. What a perfect way to unwind without being too far from home. Lucky to have a hubby that understands how important it is for you to have an opportunity to recharge from the hectic life of being a stay at home mom. You look perfect in all the shots. Would you mind sharing a beauty breakdown of what you are wearing in the pic with the maxi dress, especially your cheeks and lips. Your skin looks amazing. I always try to stay in the AC because I am afraid I am going to be a shiny hot mess.

    1. YES SO Thankful for the hubs…hes so great with there too that I don't worry. I only worried about me missing her but it was a great trip and much needed!
As for the makeup I'm wearing Illamasqua blush in LOVER and on my lips bobbi brown lip pencil in Naked and Nars Honolulu Honey lipstick. I always set my makeup with MUFE HD micro finishing powder which helps with getting oily.

  6. Glad you had fun! Would you be able to tell us what kind of bikinis those are? They are adorable (as are you!)

  7. What a perfect getaway, nothing better than girl time especially in Palm Springs 😉 you look radiant love!! Making me want to have a girls trip! 😉 xoxo

  8. You look great Andee! That french toast looks killer! haha Glad you had fun. You deserve a break once in awhile!

  9. I looove Palm Springs! I also love the fact that it's "far enough but not too far" from my 'hood in San Diego. =) My go-to hotels have been Miramonte and Rancho Las Palmas (which is great for families with young kids – planning to take my little one there someday). I love that the city gives you the option of being in a "downtown" area or venturing up to the more secluded "resort" part of town. And I always have to stop by Cheeky's before I leave (their bacon sampler is delish)! This post totally motivated me to start planning a mini getaway here. Have you ridden the aerial tram in the San Jacinto Mountains yet?

    1. yes i heard about Cheekys bacon sampler! Next time well go earlier! I have taken the tram before but when i was a kid! Not sure I could do it now id be so afraid to get on that thing! lol

  10. Love this post! Im jealous i was suppose to go there this weekend on a girls trip to but it got cancelled ! =( looks like you had so much fun !!

  11. Can you tell us about your tan? I am pretty sure you take excellent care of your skin, so I wondered did you bask for hours on end in the sun? or did you use a bronzes? Spray tan? Gradual tan? Please tell us your tan secret!! I want a "golden-ness" like yours!!! Without the cancer risk and early aging, of course 😉
    Xoxo

    1. you know I actually never tan unless I'm on vacation. I used to tan all the time back in the day and know its so bad for you so for about the last 7 years or so Ive stayed out of the sun. I tried spray tanning (even though i hate the smell) but can't do it because i have really sensitive skin and break out horribly after. I would recommend a bronzer lotion by Lorac called tantalizer it gives a nice natural looking glow!

  12. I just got back from Palm Springs a few weeks ago! My Bf's parents have a home their and we try to go every other year and take time away from our snowy Canadian winter! PS….something I love to do is to walk around the River at Rancho Mirage during the evening.
