My Easy Contour + Highlight Tutorial

Sponsored by eBay but all thoughts are my own.

Summer is here so it’s all about that bronze and glow makeup! I only started to contour and highlight a few years ago and it has seriously made such a difference! Today I’m sharing my 5 minute contour + highlight makeup tutorial that’s so easy anyone can do!

In today’s post I’m sharing my go-to contour stick, highlighter and brushes I swear by to create that natural looking bronzed and glow look and I scored all the items on eBay!

I’m sure many of you have shopped eBay before, but it’s my go-to when I want to find something at a discounted price or that I’ve had trouble tracking down elsewhere. You can basically find every brand name item and 81% of all the merchandise sold on eBay is new and available with the “Buy it now” option. What I like most about eBay is that you can easily optimize your shopping experience by filtering your search on the left hand side of any page. For the items I used from today’s post I searched “New with box” and the Free Shipping option.

So here is my go to everyday Contour + Highlight Tutorial with some of my favorite Summer makeup staples…

First things first, start with a solid base. For Summer I try to go a little lighter with my foundation and MAC’s Next to Nothing Foundation is great for that. It provides natural looking coverage that’s still breathable (and it’s buildable as well if you want a little more coverage) I apply it with This Big Fan brush. I love the size of it and it makes it so easy to put it on and blend quickly. Major plus that the brush hairs don’t shed!

A red lip is ALWAYS a staple in my makeup drawer and if you are looking for that end all be all red it’s This One HERE!

I really should rock a red lip more often because it can literally transform your entire look. This Lipstick has been my go for years and I pair it with This Lipliner (REDD).  This eyeshadow is pretty much my go to everyday shadow right now (in the color RULE and pictured above). It’s a Summery warm option that makes your eyes pop and I love wearing it liner free with just a touch of mascara.

I know contouring and highlighting can be a little intimidating at first, especially if you’ve seen some of the intense pictures where literally the whole face is painted and has a mild resemblance of a circus clown 😉 but I’m all about the philphospy of a little bit goes a long way. I like hitting the key points and blending blending and blending some more!

Nars is one of my go to makeup brands and This Contour Stick is definitely one of my favorites. I go a few shades darker than my skin tone (I use the color Cadiz) to add a bronzed warmth in all the key places. I hit right under cheekbones, along my temples and down the sides of my nose. I have a slightly wider nose so contouring down the sides makes such a huge difference.

As mentioned above the key is to blend, blend and blennnnnd! The goal is to make it look as seamless as possible so having the right brush makes all the difference. This Contour Stick has a built in brush which is amazing for on the go but I actually prefer to use This Contour Brush! It’s firm and slanted which is perfect for contouring.

Next up….Gimme that glow! Nothing makes a girl feel a little more youthful than a subtle pretty dewy glow and Nars makes another awesome highlighter stick. I add it to the tops of my cheekbones and down bridge of my nose.

This Highlighter definitely lives up to all the hype (I use it in the color Copacabana). It’s such a pretty natural looking glow and I use This Mac Brush to blend it out seamlessly.
