My Playful Summer Makeup Tutorial

Summer is right around the corner so today I wanted to share my playful summer makeup tutorial with you girls. It’s all about a great base, a subtle glow and really fun POP of color.

It’s safe to say I’m beauty junkie. I have tried so many different brands but I have a few in particular that I always go back to and Too Faced cosmetics is definitely one of them! The quality is amazing and the packing is next level. I mean seriously look at how pretty these products are! I’m not sure where you girls buy most of your beauty products but I tend to get mine from Nordstrom. When i’m running around with the kids I love that I can basically get everything I need (minus groceries 😉 in one spot! They pretty much carry all the brands I love and was SO excited to see they carry Too Faced products now too!

Okay let’s talk playful summer makeup. My go to is sun kissed glow and as mentioned a really fun pop of color! Whether it’s a tinted mascara or a playful under eyeliner (like in today’s post) adding a vibrant unexpected color is my signature look.

too faced foundation

I Started out by priming my face and then used Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (in Natural Beige). It gives a medium to full coverage and wears really well. After my foundation I used This Contour Palette along my temples, sides of my nose and hollows of the cheeks.

I have to say that Too Faced seriously makes some KILLER palettes. I have used This One and This One to DEATHHH over the past two years and honestly can’t pick a favorite because they’re both SO good. Bonus they have a hint of a chocolate smell too! My go to shadows in the Semi Sweet Palette are Peanut Butter and Bon Bon (think light airy daytime/bridal shower makeup). In the Chocolate Bar palette is (pretty much all of them!) but if I had to choose it would be Hazelnut and Salted Caramel. For this look in today’s post, I tried out of their newer palettes and opted for THIS ONE because I loved that these colors were a little more vibrant and had a lot more shimmer to them.

For my eye shadow looks I really like to keep it only to a couple colors. I don’t have time to be mixing  a million different colors so I opt for a few that pack a punch. I have a few favorites in this palette and went with these two to create my warm and bronzed eye on top…..

I used “Old Money” in my crease

and “Famous” on my lid.

I finished with a little winged liner on top and a little mascara. You girls have heard me rave about THIS ONE before but it seriously is the BEST. mascara. EVA.

and for the fun part….a little POP of color!

I had been eyeing This Too Faced liquid Pen for a while now and am so glad I got it. I’m obsessed with it and I’m wearing it in the color Steel Blue . I used the pen on all along my bottom lashes to give that flirty pop and then went over it again with this amazing Blue Gel liner to really added that extra UMPH to it. The tiny flicks of glitter really makes your eyes stand out even more.

and it’s not summer makeup without that summer’y glow right?! I used This Too Faced highlighter (comes in three pretty colors HERE) On the tops of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

too faced lipstick

and last but not least a pretty little pink/nude lip that you can rock all year long! A few of you were messaging about this lip color on my insta story yesterday and it’s this one HERE in the color Pout About It. I really wanted the color   Skinny Dippin’ but they were sold out so went with Pout About It and actually ended up really loving it.

and that’s it! It pretty simple and easy and hope you girls enjoyed this mini tutorial

So if you’re a creature of habit when it comes to your makeup, try something fun like this. I really think you’ll love the little change up!
