Kitchen Upgrade Inspiration

HAPPY FRIDAY! If you ladies follow me on Pinterest I’m sure you’ve seen me pinning away in the home decor section lately! We are making some tweaks to our kitchen and here are some inspiration pics I really love…..
I definitely want to get rid of our basic blinds and add some pretty roman shades.
We already have the subway tile, gray paint and white cabinets but I want to add some pendant lighting (if I can keep it within our budget) as well as some marble counter tops!
These bar stools are exactly what I’m looking for!

  1. We are looking to move soon (my husband is a builder so we would build our own home) and I've been pinning away like crazy! We have very similar taste in kitchens 🙂 Can't wait to see what you decide to do!

  2. Have you checked ballard designs bar stools? I think they had some similar to that at a good price. We are redoing our kitchen in a similar fashion right now. I am looking for pendant lighting just like that (love it!). So far restoration hardware has a good selection and pottery barn has a new pendant light similar to these… if you happen to find any affordable options for the lights, I would love to know!

  3. How fun! I would love to see your kitchen! Overstock has nice very affordable options as well! Have a great weekend!

  4. I have been reading your blog since I found out I was pregnant, following your weekly progress charts. (I gave birth in July to a baby boy!). I grew up in Orange County and live in San Diego now, just having completed renovations to a kitchen. Grey glass subway tile (love this http://surfacesusa.com/store/glass-tile-and-mosaic/urthglassmosaic/product/image/pebble/), white cabinets, and a quartz countertop (looks just like marble, but without the maintenance downsides that marble brings). We got some pendant lights that look similar to the ones from Restoration Hardware online, the Harmon, at Lighting New York (http://www.lightingnewyork.com/product/landmark-lighting-chadwick-pendant-66114-1.html) They sell the same lights at BBB and since the Lighting NY website has a price match policy, I got them for $200 each after mentioning that I had a BBB 20% off coupon (and bonus is free shipping, no tax). Picking out fixtures and stuff is daunting, but fun. Good luck!

  5. I actually just started a blog and ran across yours. I just posted my total kitchen renovation to our first home. I got my pendants at lampsplus.com. We are in a suburb outside of Chicago so I did go with darker floors with our colder weather and the fact that my fiance HAD to have them. He has a much more modern taste than my RH style so it was give and take. Also, I did do the carrara and we are a young couple that entertains all the time and my marble is really my biggest struggle. I already have stain rings on it and I am SO careful with it. I have also had our tile guy come back and seal it again! http://flawlessandfierce.blogspot.com/

    1. ugh thats what I was afraid of Katie. We had Marble in our last place but it wasn't polished…im hoping with it being a polish finish this time it might be easier!? ekkk wish us luck!

  6. I would like to add that fireplace to my kitchen, please! 😉 Great inspo photos! I'm going to email you in a bit about the marble counters. xo

  7. I'm in love with white kitchens but, we're renters so we have to live with what we have:) I think you should do some open shelving, I love that look!

  8. This is the right blog for anybody who desires to find out about this topic. You realize a lot it’s virtually exhausting to argue with you (not that I truly would want…Ha-ha). You undoubtedly put a new spin on a topic that’s been written about for years. Great stuff, just nice!
