Rainy Day Style

I hope you girls are enjoying your weekend! It started to drizzle here today so i’m throwing it back to a little rainy day style! It doesn’t rain very often here in SoCal so when it does I break out my Hunter rain boots any chance I get! Here’s my easy go to rainy day style….
You ladies know I love and all black look but I added one of my must have closet essentials… an oversized military jacket and some fun sunnies to liven it up a bit.

    1. we get pretty lucky here in SoCal where its always sandal and sunglass season…but you see why i get so excited for a little rain so I can wear fun rain boots too 😉

    1. thanks for the suggestion ill try to incorporate those into a post soon. Unfortunately as a stay at home mama I dont get to wear that style very often. Check out http://www.Pipmegan.com she cracks me up and has great business causal outfits as well as Veronikas Blushing she has some great business causal looks too xo

  1. You really inspirating for me. You're amazing! How do you do? On a IG photo you says that your home is a mess, but seems better row mine. Have you any household help or cooker or nanny? What do you do to your baby when you get ready, cooks, cleans , going to the gym , doing some clothes shopping or going out to eat ? How do you do to be as beautiful as ever , keep a blog, take care of your home and take care of your babies ? This is a serious question; I've a 9 months baby girl and I'm overrun… (I'm French, please excuse my English mistakes)

Rainy Day Style

I love when it rains in Southern California (because it doesn’t very often) I finally get a chance to bust out my Hunter boots I purchased a few years ago. While I love stalking high end fashion, edgy street style and red carpet looks, in real life my style is a little more practical.  My looks aren’t over the top and usually consist of great basics mixed with a bit of trend. Now that im not “going out” as much  and am usually toting a baby, comfort and practicality are definitely KEY!  I’m a HUGE fan of mixing highs and lows and will only splurge on high end pieces if I will be able to wear them for years.  Not everyone can or wants to spend hundreds of dollars on an outfit so when I post my picks on my blog, I definitely try to make an effort to find pieces at ALL price points. Here a couple casual looks from last week….

H&M stripe tee, Gap vest,  Ginette_ny necklace, Urban Outfitter OTK socks and Hunter rain boots
Urban Outfitter jacket and scarf, Steve Madden boots and Proenza Schouler bag

You can get the look with these pieces….

  1. Love the first look with the Hunter boots . . . Just like you said it's basic but you still incorporated some of my favorite trends! You look fantastic as usual.

  2. I am loving the rain! Yay for breaking out the Hunter boots! 🙂 Loving all of the looks but I really can't get over the first look- you have officially inspired me to purchase a vest like that!!

    1. Hi Claire the first two looks I'm wearing my Black J brand jeggings and the last look I am wearing 7 for all Mankind skinnies and the style is called Roxanne. xo

  3. Have you ever hit the thrift stores Andee? I live in Newport Beach and I hit up the Goodwill and Salvation Army all the time in this area and I find some awesome, sometimes BRAND NEW items. It's really hard for me to hit up the mall now. It's amazing what people will get rid of.

  4. Your hair in third picture looks amazing. Love your style so much. Also, you are my inspiration to lose weight, as I have similar style to yours, but the flare jeans definitely look better when you are skinnier…

  5. So pretty! You layer things so well Andee! I love the Hunter boots, and have considered buying some but I'm not sure how much I'd wear them. Although it actually does rain quite a bit in the Winter here… 🙂

    1. you know its funny I often think to myself i probably didn't NEED these boots bc it doesnt rain much here BUT i have used them a bit over the years and am thankful when it does rain to have them! Also when I go to NY in the Fall and Winter these babies are a must! You can have them for YEARS so i think they are worth it over all! xo

  6. Love your style! I've been following your blog for awhile now, and I in the past you've mentioned that you fill your brows in with benefit brow kit in dark. Do you still use this, or did you go to the medium kit or another product since lightening your hair? Please let me know! Thanks!

  7. You are so beautiful it's ridiculous 🙂 And we just had our first sunny day in awhile but you're making me want it to rain again so I can try and come up with a cute outfit instead of living in my pajamas on a rainy day 😉

  8. Ive been following your blog for over a year now and LOVE your style. I was wondering if you had any recommendations on rainboots other than Hunters. It seems like Hunter boots are the only ones people have (like marc jacobs watches). Do you know of any other brands that are also cute but affordable?

  9. These might just be my favorite outfits of yours YET! I am a huge hunter boots fan and always rock my Gap puffy vest this time of the year! And just picked up that striped top at H&M as well… keep up all the great work love! Your style is just so fab!

  10. You make a rainy day look beautiful!!!!!!! I have a question are your hunter boots the black hunter original? Thanks so much!!
