Honeybee Beauty: FOTD Soft Smokey Eye

For those of you who don’t know FOTD means “face of the day” (I cant tell you how long it took me to figure that out on other blogs!) Anyhow its been awhile since I’ve done a makeup post. Living in Miami has been great on my skin! You really don’t need to wear a lot of makeup because most people here keep it pretty natural due to the humidity! I pretty much just throw on a tinted moisturizer, concealer and mascara! I do loooove makeup though so it was nice to get all dolled up. Here is a soft smokey eye I wore this week……

Smokey eyes don’t always have to be harsh and dark. You can still achieve the same effect with warmer, softer colors.

Products Used:

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, Clea De Peau concealer, Lorac bronzer, Mac Groundwork paint pot (as a base on the lid), Mac Tempting eye shadow all over lid, Mac Carbon outer V and crease, NYX pigment in pearl for highlight, Mac liquid liner, Mac Freckle tone lipstick and NYX gloss and Ardell lashes)

Lastly I tapped Mac pigment Reflects Antique Gold on top of my lid. I LOVE this stuff! Pigments are pricey but they really do make a huge difference!

  1. I love this look! I also love putting Reflects Gold on the lid just to add a little sumthin' sumthin' haha. You look beautiful in these photos!

PS – It took me FOREVER to figure out what FOTD meant haha

  2. You are too gorgeous! I wish I could put on makeup like this, my eyelids are really small though hahah! Also, I follow the hollywood heels blog and she does FOTD all the time and I was always like "food of the day? all I see is your face…" lol. I guess you can tell what's always on my mind 😉

  3. Very pretty! I definitely prefer the softer, smoky eye to the dark and dramatic. I actually have a very similar color to the one you used on your lid, so I am going to give this a try. Thanks for the idea!

  4. Girl, that looks gorgeous! Antique Gold is the bomb, never disappoints. I know you love makeup like me, so check out my new fave eye liner blog I just posted when you get a chance- you need one of these Urban Decay liners to combat the humidity in Miami.

  7. Hiii Andee. I just discovered your blog as I was looking to soften up my eye makeup. I'm an eyeliner girl and always do a winged liner with either the MAC fluid line or YSL gel liner which gives me a harsher liner great for evening but not all day, every day, lol. Your makeup is absolutely gorgeous. We have a similar eye shape which is why I have been trying to do the liner in this pic but can't get it right. Which MAC liquid liner and what color are you using. It looks very light and natural I just don't know how to do it, lol. Thanks sooo much.
